This is our son’s idea.  We must admit- it was very helpful in getting the kids to work together in collecting this Fall’s leaves!  While you can buy coloured lawn bags for this season some municipalities require that yard waste be put in a specific colour bag (e.g., clear) or you might just want to get creative making your own bags!  After our son drew his Halloween ideas on our bags our neighbours did the same which he was truly delighted by!  Thank you J., M. & R.!

Materials

  • Clear large bags
  • Thick permanent marker
  • Leaves
  • Rake

*You may want to don a smock for this or wear play clothes in case some of the marker gets on your clothes

Directions

  • Rake your lawn and fill your lawn bags with leaves.
  • Using your permanent marker create spooky scenes, characters or messages.  You could do this by using either the positive or negative space.
  • Display them on your lawn.
