Whether for the exploration of process art or to create the appearance of texture for collage making, this is a great activity in that it relies on items within your recycle box to create the fun!

Materials

PlasticScreenPaintingSupplies

  • Mesh-like items (such as the bag from onions, lemons, avocados)
  • Items with holes from packaging etc.
  • Paper (we used watercolour and/or cardstock)
  • Craft tray
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes (with stiff bristles)
  • Tape

We always find a smock helpful too:

Directions

  • Don your smock.  Lay your paper in your craft tray.  Tape down your mesh.

  • This process works best with a dry brush dipped in the paint, dabbing in an up an down motion, rather than painting across.

  • We then carefully removed our mesh bags and taped on the plastic piece with the holes, creating a layered effect.  You could wait in between in between layers allowing drying time.
