Our son has been studying about waste management- reducing, reusing and recycling and how different areas of Canada reuse and recycle materials, so this book EPIC CARDBOARD ADVENTURES definitely grabbed his attention!  Written by long time blogger Leslie Manlapig of  http://www.pinkstripeysocks.com/, the book is filled with creative projects that you can make inexpensively all using various cardboard!  The ideas are creative and range in complexity and many of the items are those that you can “make and play” with which is a personal favourite.  Our eldest tried out the cardboard tube mummies (which I loved as I used to teach a unit on Ancient Egypt) and our youngest tried out this ring toss to bring for “Show & Share” at school, both met equally with delight!  As you can see from the interior shot of the book, the instructions feature photos for each step and clear directions.  Looking at Leslie’s website you can tell that she has the experience of trying out many of these types of ideas to see which ones work and each project is done in her signature style!  We never share books that we don’t personally like and this one is perfect for parents who want a bank of inexpensive ideas for their kids to remain creative over the summer holidays!
