Ana from PinkNounou designs and makes both textile and paper products for children. As part of her exploration of play, she interviews various families for this purpose: “Since I make toys – and I’m a mother of a little one – I begin to grow more and more curious about playing. How children these days play, how parents interact and play with them, how can we play in a fun way with them, how playing can help children’s development…” Here is our interview: http://pinknounou.com/blog_pn/2016/01/12/all-about-playing-interview-with-bonnie-scorer/ How do your children or students play? What are your thoughts on play? Please like & share: 2 Responses Ana January 14, 2016 My daughter loves building things with Lego – I see through out the interviews Legos are still a favorite. Every toy with lots of parts and bits and that allows her to transform into another thing, she likes. But she also loves doing her own “toys”, her own “projects” as she calls it – drawing, cutting, molding… she’s always asking me for materials These are the play times I most enjoy doing with her. My husband plays with her with Legos, or playing the guitar, I do the projects and sometimes we play games like Pictionary or guess the word all together. I think kids these days have too many (very elaborate) toys and they need to just think up games of their own. Reading is also good – stimulates the imagination and leads them to wanting to do things on their own. Reply Bonnie Scorer January 16, 2016 Thank you Ana! I think it is great when families develop an interest that they enjoy doing together- whether it be skiing, playing board games, making movies etc.. For me my favourite things to do with the kids is create and read books too! Reply Leave a Reply to Ana Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.
