Sounds simple, but lots of fun for both little and big kids!

Materials

  • Peacock tail feathers
  • Pylons
  • Large play area such as a field, yard or gymnasium

Directions

  • Balance peacock feathers on your palm facing upwards hand, your finger, elbow etc.
  • Increase the complexity by going around pylons set up in a line.  Advance to a zig, zag formation.
  • Set up two lines and race with friends or make a relay.

Purpose

  • Gross motor skill development, balancing, hand/eye coordination

Safety Notes

  • As children will be doing two activities at once (balancing an object and moving around another) introduce them to the concept of peripheral vision.
